In this blog post, we'll explore the relationship between natural hazard risk scores and property values in various cities. According to our property risk analysis, cities with low hazard scores tend to have higher property values.
Our dataset includes 10 cities with low hazard scores, each with its own unique characteristics. We'll be examining the average risk index score, hazards count, and total population for each city. For example, let's take a look at the city of Mentone, which has an average risk index score of 0.031816735602927 and a total population of 64. This is compared to Wrangell, which has an average risk index score of 0.190900413617563 and a total population of 2120. As we can see, the two cities have vastly different risk profiles. Our analysis reveals a strong correlation between environmental risk and property values. Cities with low hazard scores tend to have higher median sale prices, with Klawock boasting a median sale price of $N/A and Naknek coming in at $N/A. In contrast, cities with higher hazard scores tend to have lower median sale prices, with Ahmeek and Copper Harbor both having median sale prices of $N/A. According to our cities property analysis, these differences in median sale prices can have a significant impact on property investors.
But what about the impact of environmental risk on property inventory? Our data shows that cities with low hazard scores tend to have lower inventory levels, with King Salmon and South Naknek both having inventory levels of 0. In contrast, cities with higher hazard scores tend to have higher inventory levels, with Winnett and Eagle Harbor both having inventory levels of 0. This is further supported by our supply squeeze analysis, which highlights the importance of considering environmental risk when evaluating property inventory.
Finally, let's examine the impact of environmental risk on days on market. Our data shows that cities with low hazard scores tend to have shorter days on market, with Copper Harbor and Winnett both having days on market of 0.
